Tidings of Christmas

Christmas is always wonderful.

Family, traditions, snow...

It's been a while (again) since I've blogged, and I'm not really feeling the creative writing juices flowing. But here are a few pictures of our time in Idaho.

My 31 year-old buckskin mare, Pauly with three of the babies.

Christmas Eve at the cabin with my handsome husband. He makes me feel so loved!

Frosted pine trees.

My handsome Daddy coming in from feeding sheep and stacking a load of hay.

We had such a great time. It's always relaxing to be home...morning coffee chats with mom, playing  learning the guitar with dad, hanging out with my brother and his wife, Jenaye, face to face conversations with both grandmas remembering heritage, and shopping trips with my mom (the best kind).

I don't know why, but I feel amazingly alive when I am at home. Completely accepted and loved for who I am and the things that I bring to the table. Maybe it's just because it's where I grew up, or because my family is under no illusions (knowing me completely and what I am capable of--the good, the bad, the ugly), or maybe because a little piece of my heart will always be buried in that little, tiny, west-Idaho town that I always will simply call HOME.
