The past four weeks have been a countdown of what is to come...namely, school. August and I have a love/hate relationship. I love it because it's my birthday and our anniversary. (only a week apart!) I love August weather, (
hot warm and sunny in Western Oregon, berries to pick and Hermiston Watermelons to eat...YES PLEASE!!) I love the lack of schedule and not feeling bad for being lazy because we've had a crazy (but great) summer. But I hate that it represents the end of summer, tans, flip flops, shorts, no make up and lazy days. Our summers go so fast. I hear that's the way it is as you get older, and well, I've apparently hit "older." School starts officially (with kids) on Wednesday. That's right, the day after tomorrow. I'm so thankful for my job, the place and people that I work with, and all of the kiddos I get to teach, but let's face it, I'm not ready for summer to be over. In an effort to re-live some of the most recent adventures we have experienced, I'm posting pictures and remembering some great moments.
At the beginning of August, we made a trip up to Seattle and then on to Anacortes to visit my aunt and uncle. It was a beautiful couple of days. Lots of hiking, eating and laughing. It was Bryan's first trip north of Seattle and we enjoyed the beautiful Puget Sound from Fidalgo Island. We can't wait to visit again. The following are some of my favorite pictures. I can't remember all of the places we were because I took so long to post these, but they were at various points in Anacortes. Special thanks to my Uncle Jeff and Aunt Diana for being such wonderful hosts and taking us everywhere.

Deception Pass
A few weeks later we went to Redmond to see Bryan's family and had a great time playing with our nieces, visiting with family and friends and relaxing. I forgot my camera though, so there are no pictures of that adventure.
This last week, I was getting pretty overwhelmed with school (and life in general) and we realized that we hadn't had a getaway all summer that didn't involve being with family. We decided to get a hotel in Lincoln City for the night during the week before Labor Day craziness hit. It was wonderful, relaxing and a great time to recharge before everything starts back up. I appreciate having a man so willing to do things that make me smile.

It was gorgeous!! Nearly 70*!

The clouds were outstanding!
After eating at Mo's we found a little cove that sheltered us from the wind and took a nap!
"Repping" my Broncos! (Of the Boise State variety)

Enjoying the sunshine and the waves
All in all it has been a wonderful summer. I can't believe it's over, but I can't believe all that has happened. We have done so much and been so many places. We figured we have put over 4500 miles on our car just in the past 2.5 months. Wouldn't trade our life for anything. Love the ride, (even though there are bumps) love the company, and love knowing there are so many more adventures in store.
